The Turning Point is a home adornment folk magic poppet, designed to draw health, healing, and clarity to those in the dwelling.
The poppet features a hand sculpted head that incorporates pine bark as part of the evolution and growth of the figure, along with limbs in different stages of transformation. Her tea-stained, hand-stitched body is filled with repurposed organic stuffing, peppermint leaves, pine needles, bearberry leaves, topped with green candle wax and her core is adorned with her own special sigil.
The Turning Point started as my first sculpted character head for Day 1 of the 2024 Mab Graves Drawlloween Club: “If I Were a Shapeshifter” and she has grown into a beautiful and strange piece of folk magic poppetry.
